About

Customer-focused. Research-heavy. Built to last.

At IdeaWorx, we are customer focused. We invest heavily in research and development to transform great ideas into great products that improve lives.

Our products are innovative in nature spanning physical and digital domains. We value our intellectual property and invest in patent protection.

That is the whole brief. We take a problem that is easy to overlook — a needle that snaps in a basketball, a donation that never quite matches the need — and stay with it until there is a product on the other side.

Leadership

Allen Egnor, P.E.

President, IdeaWorx

Allen Egnor, P.E., is President of IdeaWorx. A licensed professional engineer and inventor, he leads the company’s work turning customer problems into products people can hold, use, and share — spanning patented hardware and digital platforms.

That mix is not a late-career turn. Allen has spent his working life aligning people, process, and technology: piping and construction on one side, enterprise software and digital twins on the other. At IdeaWorx the same systems mindset shows up in ONPOINT, a patented no-break air needle system, and in Giv, a web platform for people who need supplies and people who can give them. He holds patents for a self-supporting trash bag and a granule measurement apparatus, and he treats intellectual property as part of how products get built.

Before IdeaWorx, Allen was Corporate Engineering Technology Leader at Cargill, where he led a Digital Engineering Transformation that brought SaaS digital-asset intelligence and facility digital twins to 30 plants — including strategy, budgeting, licensing, and the work of global teams digitizing engineering knowledge.

At Hexagon Asset Lifecycle Intelligence (formerly Intergraph) he served as Director of SmartPlant Enterprise Solutions and Product Manager for SmartPlant Enterprise. He managed North American services, led the first deployment of a new web-based engineering collaboration application, and steered global development from early concepts to worldwide adoption across major oil and gas companies. Earlier at Hexagon he was Development Manager for Engineering Schematics and Collaboration Technologies.

His path into product leadership ran through the field: construction project management at DPR Construction and piping stress engineering at Fluor Corporation.

Allen earned a BSME from West Virginia University Institute of Technology, graduating as the first Mechanical Engineering student in the school’s history with a 4.0 GPA. In 2011, FIATECH recognized him with The Superior Technical Achievement Award (STAR) for his work on ISO 15926 industry standardization. He was also awarded the prestigious Distinguished West Virginian Award.

Physical

Patented hardware such as ONPOINT, designed, protected, and sold.

Digital

Web platforms such as Giv, built so people can ask for help and give it.

Protected

We treat intellectual property as part of the craft, not an afterthought.

Two products. One shop.

ONPOINT is in the world today. Giv is next. Both come from the same habit: invent carefully, protect the idea, and ship something people can actually use.
